Discovering spaces.
There’s something extraordinary about the rush of finding joy in a space that feels like yours – yours for a second, maybe longer, possibly forever. A favourite spot in your favourite restaurant. That room in that cool hotel. A tree house, a yoga class. Your own desk, in your own office, a flat, a home, a garden. These moments of connection are magical, and we all deserve them. But finding that happy place can be elusive, sometimes even brutal.
As someone who tells stories of place and builds brands that shape environments, I believe we have a responsibility to make joy more accessible, reveal spaces where it can be found, and use this to create connection and security between people and place.
Defining a Happy Place.
Personally, this is so much more than anything tangible or aesthetic, although that clearly helps at times; the real magic happens in how a space makes us feel. A happy place isn’t just about what’s on the surface; it’s about the emotions it stirs within.
Maybe it’s the nostalgic charm of a familiar smell, the annoying/comforting hum of the world outside, or the broken glow of natural light filtering through a window. Those intangible qualities often evoke deep emotional connections – like being transported to another time or the warmth of a memory sparked by a specific detail.
But more than anything, a happy place offers us a sense of security and ease, a place for refuge – an escape for heavy minds to recharge, reflect, and spark a sense of calm. It’s a place that invites love, creativity, and growth. A place where work becomes enjoyable and where boundaries are blurred in the best possible way. Wherever you sit, sleep, travel, run, or run wild, a happy place is where joy resides and where we feel truly free to be ourselves again and again and again.
Revealing Joy.
Today, we’re excited to introduce &Dave (formerly me&dave). Our new shorter agency name better reflects our approach to partnerships and collaboration, whilst our new Brand reveals and celebrates what matters most to us.
“Guided by discovery, we reveal the joy in spaces and places everywhere for everyone.”
Joy has always been at the heart of what we do—our relationships, our energy, our sense of fun. Now as we extend this to an increasingly diverse range of clients, our goal is simple: to reveal joy in every space and place, and connect it with those who will truly cherish it.
Keep an eye on our new space as it evolves—joy is at the heart of everything we do.
If you’d like some help revealing yours, we’d love to hear from you.
